What is the ego?
It is of vital importance that we understand what is our ego. First of all it is the greatest and only obstacle to fulfill our dreams. Once we understand that we have to take responsibility for our life and that we are the only cause of ourselves, we will stop to seek outside for someone to blame. Instead we will turn inside to understand what is not working in our thinking process, in our emotional world so that we can reshape our thoughts, our beliefs into a life sustaining way.
Why the ego is the greatest obstacle? Because it is rooted in fear and separation. It is that part of us that we escape from, because we are ashamed of it, that believes to be a fragment into an hostile world, surrounded by other fragments that will hurt, steal and kill. As a consequence it is based on a "fight or flight" approach and it will try to control, manipulate, the other isolated fragments so that it can have the object of it's desire or in order to avoid pain. There is nothing to feel guilty about it it's part of our nature; the first step is acceptance, we can't be blind to the fact that we all have a dark side and we can't allow to a fear-based "self" to control our life.
The ego is that part of you that believes to be a body, separate from other bodies, that is so deeply identified with your thoughts that has lost contact with reality. Why? Because you are the thinker and not the thought itself! You need to have a thinker in order to have a thought. Thinker=subject thought=object. Since you are an evolved, complex and conscious being you are the subject, right? We tend to give so much energy to our thoughts that they become heavier and heavier until we become them; we build our identity around them. Think about who you think you are: a part of you says "I am Tony", "I was born in New York in 1978", "I like ice creams", "I am a lawyer" etc. You see this are just things, thoughts, you are, instead, who is this things, the consciousness that originates the thinking process. Who you were in the womb of your mother? You existed, you were alive. You surely were not your name and story, what you now call "me", you were pure consciousness in a body. Then you grew up and you started to build your identity around your thoughts, forgetting of the real, deeper you . As a child you thought "I like cartoons" and that was your "me", your thoughts-based identity at that time. Now you think "I don't like cartoons" and that is what you think you are. There is a part of you, a silent observer, that has been always there, within you, while all this things were changing. That is who you are.
Our thoughts should be like little clouds in a clear sky, we should observe them and they simply should pass. Instead we give them all that attention, all that energy, that they become as heavy as rocks, and they don't pass; they are unmovable and static. In this way we become our age, our jobs, what we like, even our names and surnames are just a very summary description of who we really are. Truth is that we are not our story, our past. We are infinite beings and this is a fact. We lived many lives, in different space times, dimensions and planets; that is our story, our soul-story and it is stored within us.
A cop, for example, believes to be his uniform; he/she is so absorbed by this fake identity that he/she forgets completely that first of all he/she is a human being (unless it's a starseed!!!) and, second, he/she is a soul! Not the thing that he/she is wearing. Pure consciousness falls into the illusion of believing to be a thing (body/thought/uniform etc).

This way we completely lose ourselves. If you add to this that the ego is so attached to the illusion of time...
Yes because the ego knows no love, it doesn't want it. Therefore it's unable to forgive, for example, and this is why it keeps living in the past. It's like a pendulum, oscillating continuously between past rancorous and future worries. The ego can't live in the present because basically it's the result of our past so even when it projects itself in the future the result will be the past. Only in the here and now we can create something new.
All this originates an identity and a personality that is so very far away from our real Self, which is our God-Self, our identity as spiritual beings, as souls. This is a very natural consequence of incarnating in a place of extreme duality like planet Earth: we come here and we completely forget about who we are, why are we here and we start to believe to be someone that we are not: a body separate from everything, weighed down by things (thoughts) that we call "me"! Well, it's part of the game and fortunately we all have the tools to remember. Moreover as the frequency of the planet raises the veil of forgetfulness is becoming thinner and the new generations of children have their memories intact when the embody here.
Ego=A PART of you not the whole, real you. A fragment that believes to be your whole-Self; an illusion in other words.
If we believe to be separate from each other the natural consequence will be a thinking pattern that promotes "me vs you" "us and them" "I am black you are white" "he is Muslim I am Christian" "he is gay I am not" "she is Palestinian I am Jew" and on and on. This is what those who believe to be in power used for eons: divide and conquer. We are all so deeply focused on our "differences" that we don't even take a look to the fact that we are all the same, not to mention the that we are One. We are so distracted that we don't pay attention to the fact that we are the people, we are powerful creator beings and that "those in power" are using this strategy to divide us. Truth is that this world is for us all, even those that we call evil. The politician is you, the cop is you even the pope is you!! Sure you don't want to follow them, to be a slave, or to hang out with them if you don't like what they say, but please never fall into the illusion of believing to be separate/better then them. We are all "fighting" the same battle here, even the "bad" guys will ascend.
Thinking form a 3D point of view, the separation, led the world to countless conflicts. The quarrels in our everyday life, the competition at work, violence, bullism, even wars are the obvious consequence of the ego identification.
Whenever you find yourself thinking "you will not make it" "you are not enough" "he/she is better than me" it's the ego speaking. Believing to be separate/isolated/alone lead us to judgment, which is the root of our suffering. We begin to compare ourselves to others, to believe that we are less/more than them. We should learn, instead, to be simply open and this comes from accepting that each one of us is where he/she is meant to be. Don't take things personally.
One of the ego's main traits is self-sabotage, it loves to go against itself. Sounds like madness but we all have that inside us because, again, when you believe that to establish who you are you have to compare to others, you will never be enough, you will never meet the standard, you will believe to be small, powerless and unworthy.
As consequence you will feel guilty to receive/create something good in your life and instead of manifesting your dreams/desires and working on them you will push against them. You will refuse what you want, creating conflict within simply because you think (yes it's a thing, a thought, not you) that you are not enough . Change the way you think and change your reality. You have to find out that you are worthy and you don't need to prove it. Walk proud in that knowing. This is something that especially males have, the constant need to prove oneself to be "a man" which in other words is simply seeking approval from others, a good way to give away your power. Your self-esteem, depends by no one but you! Build it and know that you are an infinite being that is one with God, one with All That Exists, you are pure and without sin; sin is an illusion created by religions to make us feel guilty the moment we enter this world. You made experiences not sins, we all did that, you simply have to go behind them now. Forgive yourself, forgive others, go out in the world and shine!
Other ego characteristics are deception and control. It wants to be always in control because it doesn't like change, it fears to loose it's "identity" and the things or the people it's so attached to. To reach this purpose, is uses the weapon of deception toward the self and others. The ego loves to be in the comfort zone perpetuating the never ending cycle of recreation of the past. If you don't try to do something new and different how can you obtain the improvements that you so truly want? You keep avoiding them due to the self-sabotage mechanism and because of the fear of the unknown (new).
The ego will always try to convince you that self-love is wrong and egoistic, that is evil. Please don't listen, loving yourself is the key for a happy life.
No one can love you but you! Then one day, when you will be ready, you will find a person that reflects what you already have for yourself. Not someone that completes you, that fills a void; you already are whole!
An incessant mind chatter, that repeats the same thought patters again and again, thinking that you are the center of the universe, that the whole world revolves around you, are others clear signs of your ego at work.
What can we do to go beyond the ego? Well first of all we have to understand that is a long process that takes time, not for this reason we have to renounce to do it.

- Accept the impermanence of life. Nothing in life will remain the same forever. Life is change, when we resist the change we remain stuck and we suffer. For this reason, once more, it's useless to be so attached to things, situations, people, past moments; you own nothing! To love someone you don't need to be attached to them. Learn to let go and let God. Nothing will remain the same forever, change can be scary but see it as an opportunity to learn something new, to grow, to improve. Allow it into your life and you will be better and better.
- Everything is NOW HERE. There is no other time and space. Accept that time (and space) is an illusion, go beyond the nostalgia for the past, which is gone, and the anxiety for the future. The more you learn to be present in the moment, the more you will be aware that who you are now, has nothing to do with who you were one year ago, one week ago, one day ago not even a second ago! In every now moment we are a completely new person and we can choose who we want to be! Stop to live in the linear progression called time, which is, on all levels, scientifically, psychologically, a big illusion. The best way to develop presence in the here and now is meditation! Stop to be weighted down by all that frustration, grief, rancor: it's gone! So let it go!! When you let it go you will
- Forgive. You will open the gates toward self love.
- Live in your heart. The heart is the center of our being, not our head. We give so much energy to our mind that we become cold, cynic, calculators; we forget that we are compassionate, kind, loving beings and that there is nothing bad in being this. We have been taught that behaving in this way is a sign of weakness, especially for males, but if you look to a person that is capable of loving unconditionally you will see fire in their eyes. You will see that they are great spiritual warriors that have been through everything. Trust me I have been inspired by one of this beings, I know what I am talking about, moreover I have experienced this directly on my skin. Love is the energy that allows you to do everything. Nothing is impossible for love, literally. If you resist emotions you will be like a zombie, a walking dead, half alive. Emotions, are what makes you feel alive especially the positive ones. Bring them out!
- Open up to the divine feminine. At the highest (the fundamental) level everything is One, at our level, there are "two" types of energy: male and female; the truth of oneness is simply hidden. Being a man doesn't mean that you don't have the divine feminine within and being a woman doesn't mean that you don't have the divine masculine inside you. Look at the yin yang symbol: the yin (black, darkness, the moon, feminine) has a white dot inside while the yang (white, light, sun, masculine) has a black dot; indeed they are One. This has nothing to do with labels, it simply means that they have each other within themselves. This is why we are all already whole. Whether you are embodying male or female energy open up to the Goddess within! Her main traits are creativity, nurturing, love, inward focus, heart focus. Then be loving, be creative, be nurturing. This way, if you are a man, you will transcend all that harsh dominating engage (ego) imprinted by society, which is a very distorted and fake role model of what a man should be. You will find the strength, power, clarity, protection, of the true divine masculine. If you are a woman you will find your true power within, you will be aware that you are no less than any man. You will access the full expression of both divine masculine and feminine. We have to quit to be scared of looking in our hearts, that means bringing to the surface the divine feminine. Look there!
- Respect the free will of other souls. We can't control beings. They have a free will and it's their right to have a personal opinion based on what they believe to be true. We can't impose our will and point of view on others. Do not be scared if someone disagrees with you or thinks so differently from you. It's their choice, their path, you can only learn to accept that you can't please everyone, you are not here to live up to other people expectation. Respect their path because whatever they are going through now is what brings them the highest coefficient of growth, therefore
- Do not judge. I can't stress this enough. Live the life of the 5D being that you are. Stop to think that you know everything, you don't! What is the point, then, of judging? You will only feed your ego. Even when you fear to be judged from others it's always you judging yourself. "What will she/he will think if I do this? If I put this dress?" "Will he/she like what I am saying?" You are stressing, worrying and judging yourself, it comes from you not from someone else! Just chill! Truth is that the greatest judge of yourself is you. Start, then, as always, from you. Stop to be so hard on you, do not complain or you will simply lower your vibration. Be nice and kind with yourself.
