The last post was bout Lyrans so I wanted to write about the symbolic meaning of the lion as it is the animal associated with this star race, indeed Lyrans are called the Lion Guardians. Why? Because this animal is the quintessence of protection for many cultures around the world. In ancient times in China, Babylon, Japan, statues of lions were erected in sacred sites because they were believed to posses the ability to protect those important places. For the Romans the lion is associated with love, specifically the masculine and with divinities such as Venus and Bacchus. Other attributes carried by the lion are regality and power, that is why for the christianity is associated with God; it is also the symbol of the Christ. Even Buddha and Krishna are associated with this animal, for their radiance, their golden auras and their knowledge of a deeper, spiritual level of existence. When associated with the Sun and with it's energy, indicates life, expansion, luminosity. Wisdom and authority. This can have both a positive and negative side, in it's negative meaning can indicate that someone or something has power/authority over you in this moment so the lion is there to make you aware of this. Our leadership capacity, the ability of self control, comes to the surface when the lion is around. The lioness, instead, is associated with the great nurturing mother as she provides for the needs of her cubs. She is an hunter and lives with her sisters that is why it brings the meaning of sisterhood and collaboration. Timing and patience are skills needed for an hunter. Together, lion and lioness, they bring us the message of remembering and knowing our real power within, our nobility, our worth and value. They tell us to be brave and stand up for what we believe in so that we can speak our truth with confidence, just like they roar in the jungle! The emotional sphere is also of importance because this feline indicates the capacity to master our emotional self but is even a warning for our stored fear and anger as they may be taking control of us, so we need to find our strength within in order to overcome our challenges and be again the Lion Kning that we are.
